Amber Mitchell,
Dance Studio Owner/Award Winning Choreographer/Creative Director

Amber Mitchell, Dance Studio Owner/Award Winning Choreographer/Creative Director

Ms. Amber's Dance Bio

Ms. Amber is an award winning choreographer and member of the Apache Belle Gold Alumni.  She has been involved in dance, cheer, and drill team work since the tender age of 4 and has been choreographing and instructing dance since the age of 14. She has trained extensively in Jazz, Hip Hop, Cheer, Clog, Drill, Gymnastics and Tap.  Ms. Amber also trained in Tae Kwon Do for 3 years from the age of 9.  She won Silver and Gold medals at the State Competition level and moved on to compete in the Junior Olympics in Tampa, FL.  Amber was a Greenville Flaming Flashes officer while studying at Greenville High School and was frequently asked to choreograph routines for the officer tryouts. Amber also choreographed and taught cheer routines upon the requests from her peers and instructors during her high school summers at Brookhill in Hot Springs, Arkansas. While in high school Amber was part of the Greenville Lions Softball team all four years of high school and started as a pitcher on the Varsity team her sophmore, junior and senior years and pitched a no hitter earning her Most Valuable Player.  Ms. Amber was offered many college scholarships but decided to follow her love of dance instead.  After Ms. Amber graduated from GHS she auditioned for the prestigious Tyler Junior College 50th Anniversary Apache Belles. Needless to say, she made it. While with the TJC Apache Belles she had the opportunity to perform in the Houston Thanksgiving Day Parade and in the Houston Oiler's Half-time show. She also danced in the Rose Parade in Tyler, TX, helped coordinate the Ms. Tyler Pageant, and help coordinate and organize the theatrical aspects of a production of CATS that was performed by a traveling performance group while she was with the TJC Apache Belles.  Amber also graced the cover of Dance and Drill Magazine (now known as Dance Spirit Magazine) in 1999 while with the TJC Apache Belles. Amber has won many awards such as "Miss High Kick" and "Jump Splitz Queen." In 2010 she was asked to choreograph a hip-hop piece for Commerce High School's Tigerette Drill team to compete with during their competition season.  Her choreography went on to win Sweepstakes.  In 2011 she was asked by the Leonard, TX Tigerettes Cheer Coach to choreograph and teach a piece for them to perform during all half time shows.  The cheerleaders have been consistently recognized for their performance and stunts throughout Ms. Amber's piece.  After seeing how Ms. Amber interacted with the girls and her awesome choreography the Tigerettes Cheer Coach asked her to also choreograph the piece for their 2012 season.  Ms. Amber is now looking forward to using her experience at The Dance Matrix to help her students grow in all forms of the art of dance.
